Coffee & a Card: Coffin Boxes

Oh happy day! Its Sunday! Every Sunday I go live at 8am PST on my Facebook group page. Did you get to watch me live this morning? If not, don’t worry! You can watch the REPLAY HERE if you missed it.

Halloween is only 11 days away! Those that know me, know it’s my most Favorite holiday! I love to dress up, eat candy and watch scary movies! I get to be a BIG KID again!

So I could not let this holiday slip me by without showing you how easy these last minute Halloween Coffins are to make as gifts for friends, family and co-workers.

First project is a bright yet spooky coffin!

slime coffins

Why would anyone ever make a coffin so bright? Well because I was tipped off by a FB friend (Lisa Carter) THANK YOU! She told me I better hurry to Michaels Craft Store because they had coffins full of slime that fit inside the Stampin’ Up!’s Coffin Boxes!

These adorable Slime Coffins come in 4 colors. So I grabbed an arm full and ran home to make these matching Coffin Boxes to give to friends this year. EASY AND DONE!

Project #2 is a traditional Dracula’s Coffin!

dracula coffin

I embossed the lid of the coffin with the Tin Tile Embossing folder and cut out a Dracula using the Monster Bash DSP. Can’t get easier than that! Then I used a piece of the Real Red Rouched Ribbon as a little decoration behind the label. This ribbon is PERFECT for a Dracula’s coffin. Why do you ask? well check out the inside-

Wrapping the ribbon around the inside of the coffin and lining the bottom with a piece of Real Red Cardstock made the perfect coffin for Dracula!

I found these Vampire teeth and “blood candy” at the Dollar Tree! You get a whole pack for $1!! My kind of savings!

Project #3 is a cool coffin!

Spiderweb coffin

I used the Craft White Ink and the Copper Metallic Ink to “Grunge” the coffin up. Then I stamped some Copper Spider webs using the Wonderfully Wicked Stamp set. I finished it off by creating a copper label.

Inside,  I cut out a bottom liner in Monster Bash DSP and filled it with dark chocolate Kisses.

On my Facebook Live Video this morning, I am going to try using a Gorgeous Grape label to match the Hershey Kisses. 🙂 Click here to-Watch the replay to see these 3 treat boxes come together!

Coffee & a Card: Peaceful Boughs Lantern

Hello! It’s Coffee & a card time again! Every Sunday I go live at 8am pst on my Facebook group page. Did you get to watch me live this morning? If not, don’t worry! You can watch the REPLAY HERE if you missed it.

I couldn’t wait to use the new Mercury Glass Acetate sheets in the holiday catalog. They reminded me of a cold winter window covered in frost. I had an idea to make a lantern using them so thats what I did today.

fb live 10-6

I found a lantern shape and idea that I like on a video by Angela Pyjas. But the dimensions called for a 12 x 12 piece of Basic Black cardstock. So I created I changed the dimensions down so I could use a 8 1/2″ x 11″ piece of Basic Black.

I also had the wonderful blessing of receiving an unexpected gift in the mail from a dear friend, Debbie Mallory. She sent me the Peaceful Boughs Bundle as a gift. I have to be honest, when I saw this set in the catalog, I passed right over it. I am ever so GRATEFUL that she gave these to me because they are absolutely stunning and just what I needed to decorate my lantern. Don’t you think?

And then there is the Mercury Glass Acetate. Stunning right?! I absolutely love it! It was the perfect touch for this lantern.

You can watch the Live video HERE to see all of the steps to making this beautiful and surprisingly easy lantern. If you share my video you could win my Free as a Bird Blends Class from September. You can also click on the link below to get the Project sheet in PDF that includes the product list and measurements to make this project.
