Coffee & a Card: Facebook Live- Masking Technique

Happy Sunday Everyone! So glad to be able to join you for Coffee & a Card! It is a blessing to craft with you each week.

This week I featured Masking techniques. I had fun trying this out and I am so happy with the results!

First off is my Scenic Sitting Pretty card.

masking Card 1.png
I used my Stamparatus for this card because the dog and bird are both 2 step stamps. Lining up the stamps was a breeze! I love our Stamparatus! I also embossed the bench in Gold Emboss powder which I think turned out nicely. Don’t you agree? If you missed  my Facebook Live, you can watch the REPLAY HERE.

Here is the second “Masking” project-

impossible Card
I tried my hand at an “Impossible Card”. I used the Animal Outing Stamp Set. I wanted my animal friends to overlap and I love that you can achieve this with Masking. There are some tips and tricks that I shared in my Facebook Live video so make sure you watch the Replay HERE.

My last project was inspired by a photo I found on Pinterest.

country treat box

It reminds me of a country kitchen! Here is the Picture from Organized Clutter that I got this idea from.

You can find the full post HERE. You can truly find inspiration everywhere you look! I have found inspiration just walking through Target. Try it some time and you will see color combinations, designs and ideas all around you.

I am also excited to share my latest Class with you! You can attend locally or get the class To-Go. It’s all about Fancy Folds using the New Time for Tea Bundle. There are 4 different options for this class. Ask for the registration link for all the details!

Coffee & a Card: Facebook Live- Just Add Color!

Happy Sunday Everyone! So glad to be able to join you for Coffee & a Card! It is a blessing to craft with you each week.

This week I taught two techniques for bringing color to your projects. I had personal requests to demonstrate these two projects and I am always happy to oblige!

First off is my Waterfront Sunset card using Brusho Crystal Colours.

Island Sunset CardThis project probably looks familiar because it’s from my Blog Hop earlier in the week. People didn’t believe that I used Brusho to create this card, so guess what that means! Yep! It means I get to prove it! If you missed  my Facebook Live, you can watch the REPLAY HERE.

Island Sunset Card #2I had so much fun making this card. Brusho isn’t hard, its just messy! 😉 I hope after you watched me play, that you’ll try it yourself! And if you do, please share your creation on my Facebook Group Page or even here in the comments. However you share it, I Will LOVE IT! I love seeing what others make because we are all artists!

The second technique was also requested after I shared my August In Color Club projects on Facebook.

Photo Aug 08, 6 21 51 AM.pngWe used the Stampin’ Pads to add ink to the Lovely Floral DTIEF and emboss white cardstock to make our embossed images pop! It’s a really cool technique and we decided it sort of looks like we colored with crayons or even a bit antiqued.  There are some tips and tricks that I shared in my Facebook Live video so make sure you watch the Replay HERE.

Wild About You! My first Scrapbook page

I am stepping out of my comfort zone today with my latest creation. Believe it or not, I have never scrapbooked before! Don’t get me wrong, I adore scrapbooks. One of my fondest memories is receiving a scrapbook from my mom for Christmas. It was filled with so many happy memories and I cherish it to this day! It’s simply something I personally have been putting off in fear of how much work it will take to actually complete one!

But! It was finally necessity that made me take the leap! I have a goal and in order to meet that goal, I needed to broaden my skills which included the ability to design a scrapbook page. (Cryptic I know) but here it is! My first ever page.

Photo Aug 12, 6 14 57 PM

I had so much fun designing this page! It came together so easily thanks to my favorite Bundle from this years’ Stampin’ Up! Catalog, the Animal Outing Bundle. This suite has all the perfect elements to make a fun page! I used the Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper to add color. The Cute Animals were cut from the Designer Series Paper using the Animal Friends Framelits and I finished it off with some new Leaf Ribbon.

Who knew how much I would love creating this! I think I will be giving this as a gift to a friend of mine. She has a young grandson and can use it for his Scrapbook.

I challenge all of you to get out of your comfort zones and try something new! You might surprise yourselves and absolutely LOVE IT!

Happy Crafting!

Team Blog Hop- Coloring

Blog hop coloring

I love being apart of such a talented team! Each month, we coordinate a Blog Hop with a different theme. I am so excited for this month’s because there are some truly talented Artists on our team who can color like nobody’s business!

I took this opportunity to try something I’ve wanted to do which is paint a sunset! So I took 2 of my favorite things (the Waterfront Stamp Set and Brusho Crystal Colors) and gave it a shot!

Island Sunset Card

I love all the colors that come in a sunset. The reds, blues, purples, yellows……. it makes for a magical scene. I have to tell you that I didn’t know what to expect when I started but I am happy with the end result!

I added wink of Stella to the water to add a shimmer because I love the shimmer that bounces off the ocean during a sunset and tried to recreate that. What do you think?

Island Sunset Card #2

To make this card, I used a piece of Watercolor paper. First I stamped the land, mountains, trees and reflection of the mountains in Stazon Black Ink. Then I sprinkled out some Yellow Brusho onto a large clear block. Using my Aqua Painter, I mixed the crystals with water from the Aqua Painter and started painting yellow where I wanted the sun set to be the brightest. I sprinkled all the other Brusho colors out onto the block (keeping them separate) and applied color from lightest to darkest on my Watercolor paper. I tried to keep the center lighter and darker towards the edges. When it was completely dry, I used Wink of Stella to make the water sparkle. The sentiment I used was from the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set. This card makes me want to escape to a tropical island and sit on the beach with an ice cold drink!

Here is another “sunset” I painted with Brusho. (I just couldn’t stop once I started!)

Dreamcatcher Brusho card #1

I used the Follow Your Dreams Bundle to add a dreamcatcher “moon” if you will. I used Gold foil behind the Dream Catcher and I embossed the Sentiment in Gold Embossing Powder.

Dreamcatcher Brusho card

I hope you’ll get out your Brusho Crystals and your Aqua Painter and give it a try. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!

Here is a list of all the supplies I used to make these cards-

Happy First Sunday of August! I am always happy to craft on Sunday morning with you!

Join me live on my Facebook page. You have to request to join but I am quick to approve them and would be happy to have you!

Coffee & a card Aug 5thToday’s first project is the lovely Butterfly Peekaboo Card!

Butterfly Card 2I found this type of card on pinterest and CASED the design from lorri Heiling. Thank you Lorri for sharing your fun card!

There are several things I love about this card but I think my favorite is of course the “peekaboo” effect.

Butterfly Card open

Fun right? And SUPER Easy!! I Like Easy 😉

My second project is all thanks to being on an AMAZING team and having the most AMAZING Upline, Erica Cerwin or as most know “Pink Buckaroo“. Being on my team has it’s advantages! One really awesome one is that we get Tutorials for FREE! For example, if you were on my team, you would get my tutorials for FREE AND Erica’s Tutorials for FREE. So this month she shared The All Star Tutorial Bundle with her team. This is just one of the fabulous perks of signing up to be a demonstrator on my team. Learn all about them here.

This project idea came from that Tutorial Bundle-

Tropical purse

Thank you Allison Okamitsu for her idea! Did you know you can take the Acetate Card Boxes and cut them to make a purse? I didn’t either but when I saw her project I just had to try it! I decorated mine differently and used what I had and I couldn’t be happier with it! Watch my Facebook Live to see how I made it and I showed an alternate idea as well.

My last project was both scary and fun! Why? Well because I crafted on the FLY! Or “winging it”. Meaning I didn’t know what I was going to make I just knew that I wanted to try the new Uninked Spectrum pad.

Spectrum pad

Want to know what I ended up making? Well then you’ll have to watch my Facebook Live video. Remember to share my video and you’ll be entered to win my projects from this week. I draw an winner each week!
